The training offered by Ergonovix covers several aspects of ergonomics. Jeanne Guérin, principal consultant at Ergonovix, certified ergonomist and trainer approved by Emploi-Québec, teaches at the graduate university level, to members of occupational health and safety (OHS) associations, to engineers / designers and to companies that have relocated their workers at home. She has also presented numerous articles at international conferences.
Jeanne has accumulated an expertise in the field of ergonomics in high-tech sectors, such as aerospace. medical administrative buildings, pharmaceutical and industrial settings. She likes to offer knowledge transfer to help rising generations and/or to support the progress of projects during parental leave.
Jeanne also offers specialized conferences. One of her lectures aims to better understand and experience changes in performance as we age. At the end of this training, participants will be able to understand the basis for designing objects and environments that meet the physical, cognitive and cultural needs of this population. We will cover the basics of universal design and how to incorporate the concepts learned into design projects affecting this population.
Ergonovix offers training with modules that combine to obtain basic training, leading to a good knowledge of the principles of ergonomics. The training is aimed at managers, designers and engineers, home workers, and occupational health and safety (OHS) advisers to facilitate the recognition of risks in musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) and thus facilitate decision-making on methods to improve workers’ health. The training includes case studies and exercises aimed at integrating information among participants.
For example, one of the training courses is aimed at the management team who will be able, at the end of the training, to understand the different aspects of ergonomics and the role of the ergonomist. The participant will be able to consult the statistics on the cost, type and occurrence of injuries in their industry sector, recognize the risks causing injuries in their business, know basic ergonomic standards and their importance to avoid litigation, calculate return on investment, define if ergonomics is an added value for the company and understand the contribution of solutions through purchase and / or design in the hierarchy of controls.
Occupational Health and Safety advisers will benefit from training covering the best tools for analyzing risks, cataloging them and finding strategies to control them. Ergonovix also offers to OHS committees an interesting formula that is dynamic and fits well into a busy schedule. We offer one-hour capsules, in virtual mode with trainers present during the training to answer questions or pre-recorded capsules to be consulted according to a flexible schedule. We cover subjects such as OHS team leadership, lockout tagout, manipulations involving forces, ergonomics of working at home etc.
Engineers and designers using Delmia’s digital human model will know, at the end of their training, how to use digital mannequins in their projects. Digital human models (DHM) are used during 3D design to verify visibility of the operators’ task, reaching distances, reserve volumes for the use of tools in order to design products and environments ergonomically. DHM also facilitates communications and decision-making based on visual and quantitative data. We also made available a training on guides and standards to use in ergonomic design to reduce design errors and rework.
